The music of THE 5th BLUE ROAD was inspired by diversity of urban cities. Drawing on Middle-Eastern, jazz and contemporary music, each of the four cosmopolitan guest-musicians invites the listener to a world of allegory – a clandestine city where diversity dissolves into a single harmony.

The album title’s use of the colour blue is a nod to the Blue Note underlining the vital role of improvisation in this project. The number 5 refers to the 5 artists (composer and improviser/musicians) who have set off on this path lined with surprises, encounters and the unexplored.

La musique de LA 5e ROUTE BLEUE est inspirée du métissage des villes urbaines. Animé des musiques moyen-orientale, jazz et actuelle, chacun des quatre musiciens cosmopolites invite l’auditeur dans un univers allégorique, sorte de cité clandestine où la diversité se fond en un accord.

La couleur bleue du titre de l’album est un clin d’œil à la « blue note » révélant l’importance de l’improvisation au sein de ce projet. Le chiffre 5 fait référence aux 5 artistes (compositeur et musiciens-improvisateurs) qui entreprennent cette route métissée, parsemée de rencontres, de surprises et d’inconnu.
